Plans by Gov. Jim Edgar to transfer $21 million from the state pension fund to help balance this year`s budget were temporarily blocked Thursday by Illinois Supreme Court Justice Charles Freeman.
Responding to an emergency request from opponents of the move, Freeman blocked the transfer until the full Supreme Court considers a new legal challenge by Chicago lawyer Clinton Krislov.
