An employee of a recently opened Wal-Mart at 900 S. Illinois Highway 83 was arrested Monday after failing to charge two people for merchandise valued at $229, police said.
Police charged George L. Tarsha, 29, of 303 Bohland Ave., Bellwood, with attempted retail theft after a supervisor compared the number of items intended for purchase against the cash receipt.
