Buffalo Bills wide receiver Eric Moulds pleaded guilty Tuesday to harassing a former girlfriend and a college student he met in a bar, and he could face up to 30 days in jail. Moulds, 23, the Bills’ top draft pick in 1996, pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree harassment. City Judge Robert T. Russell Jr. can impose a 30-day jail term on Moulds at his sentencing June 16.

Tennis: Top-seeded and defending champion Michael Chang fell victim to the slashing lefty style of Brazilian Fernando Meligeni, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the first round of the AT&T Challenge in Duluth, Ga. Fourth-seeded Andre Agassi posted a quick 6-3, 6-2 victory over Jamie Oncins, also of Brazil. Qualifier Steve Campbell ousted fourth-seeded Jim Courier 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.

– Top-seeded Yevgeny Kafelnikov of Russia earned his first singles victory of the year, defeating Lionel Roux of France 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 in an opening-round match of the Czech Open in Prague.

Basketball: Paul Swanson, an assistant coach under Ricky Byrdsong for the last four years at Northwestern, has been hired as head coach at Pensacola Junior College.

– Nancy Darsch, fired last month after 12 years as Ohio State’s coach, has been hired as coach of the New York Liberty of the WNBA.

– Darsch’s replacement at Ohio State, Beth Burns, has agreed to a five-year contract that will pay her at least $300,000 a year–almost double the package of her predecessor.

Soccer: Wisconsin has hired Kalekeni Banda, the head coach at Amherst since 1988, to replace Jim Launder as its coach. Launder was fired in February, one year after he was named national coach of the year for leading the Badgers to their only national championship in 1995.
