Roosevelt Watkins, Jr., the father of Rev. Roosevelt Watkins, III, Pastor of Bethlehem Star M.B. Church, departed his life on November 30, 2003, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Mr. Watkins was an active member of Bethlehem Star M.B. Church and former President of the Unit League of First Aid of Chicago, where he served for many years. Mr. Watkins is also a retired U.S. Postal Service truck driver. Mr. Watkins is the father of five children, daughter, June Clay, son Dr. Kevin (Sandra), daughter Denise E.; son Roosevelt, III (Phyllis) and son Marcus (Tarcia). Mr Watkins body will lie in state on Friday, December 5, from 12 Noon to 6 p.m. and the Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, December 6, Wake 10 a.m. Service 11 a.m. to be held at Bethlehem Star M.B.
