Chicago Heights police on Monday were investigating the weekend shooting death of a man on the city’s west side.
Quione Emery, 25, of the 200 block of West 15th Place was pronounced dead at 9:34 p.m. Sunday at St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields, said Police Lt. Michael Romano. Emery was found in his front yard at about 9 p.m. with wounds in his head and torso, Romano said.
No one was in custody late Monday.
“Obviously, we’d like to say we got him [the gunman] today, but we’re still working on it,” Romano said.
Neighbors said Emery was heard quarreling with a group of men before the shooting, Romano said.
The South Suburban Major Crimes task force is assisting in the investigation.
