A former conjoined twin has been discharged from a hospital less than three weeks after receiving a kidney from her mother, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Maliyah Herrin’s mother, Erin Herrin, donated her right kidney to the 5-year-old in a seven-hour operation on April 3.
Maliyah, who was released Saturday, had dialysis treatments until she was ready for the transplant.
