Joseph Nekola, age 87 of Lyons IL, formerly of Stickney, IL. WWII Army Vet , Pearl Harbor suvivor. He was in the 845th ORD Depot Co. Recepient of a Bronze Battle Star. Loving husband of the late June; fond brother of Al, Alice Vujetch, late Mae Leach, Lou and William; loving nieces Janice Vitello, Valerie and Susan Vujetch, Shirley Baker; loving nephew Larry Vujetch Jr., Gary, Wayne, Ray, David Nekola, Ken Leach; many other relatives and close friends. Chapel services Tuesday, May 29, 2007 10 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL. Family and friends will meet 9:45 a.m. (by the cemetery office). Entombment to follow. Mr. Nekola a Trustee for District #103 School Board, he was politician, Lyons Township Highway Commissioner, Tavern Owner, Butcher and Fireman. WW II Army Vet with high honors, Lyons Club member for 55 years. Participated in numerous charitable activities. Fourth of July Parade Marshall and V.F.W. Member Summit (63rd St. Post).
