A Chicago man was charged Tuesday with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy in a Southwest Side alley Sunday, police said.

Emanuel Flores, 43, of the 3100 block of West 71st Street, was arrested Sunday night after officers responding to an unrelated call saw him assaulting the boy on a couch in an alley in the 2900 block of West 63rd Street, police said.

Flores later told police in a written statement that he had paid the boy for sex, police spokesman Pat Camden said.

Another man watching the assault was not charged but was arrested on an outstanding warrant for driving under the influence, Camden said.

The boy was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
