A 19-month-old girl shot during a mass murder-suicide in Delavan last weekend has been discharged from the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison as relatives prepare for the Saturday funeral of her mother, aunt and twin brothers.
Jasmine Analco, recovering from a gunshot wound in her chest, apparently was in her mother’s arms when she was shot by Jasmine’s father, Ambrosio Analco, 23, who turned the gun on himself after killing five people, said Walworth County District Atty. Phillip Koss. Jasmine, who went home late Wednesday with her grandparents, was found in a minivan outside the duplex where the bodies were found.
Besides Analco, the dead include his former girlfriend, Nicole Marie McAffee, 19; the couple’s 6-month-old twins, Argenis and Isaiah Christian Analco; McAffee’s sister, Ashley Lynn Huerta, 21; and a family friend, Vanessa Iverson, 19.
Delavan Police Chief Timothy O’Neill said local, county and state officials agree that Analco was the sole gunman, but it will take months to process the autopsy, DNA, ballistics and other forensic results.
Koss said Analco was found dead in the home with gunshot wounds in his chest. A .380-caliber semi-automatic handgun was found close to his body.
It is unclear how Jasmine wound up in the minivan. The other victims were found in several rooms in the two-story house. Another survivor, Gaspar Huerta, the husband of Ashley Lynn, escaped by dropping from a balcony on the second floor.
Koss said the coroner’s office confirmed that Analco’s wounds were consistent with a suicide. “She says this is plausible and possible he could have shot himself multiple times with a semiautomatic,” he said.
No other weapon or shell casings were found, Koss said.
