Louis P. Zanzola, age 82, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007 atRosewood Care Center, Joliet.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia; three daughters, Luann (the late Thomas Cekay) of St. Charles, Rose-mary Bruckner (Ray Ellis) of Shorewood and Joan Zanzola of Joliet; four grandchildren, Brendan and Monica Bruckner and Anthony and Nathaniel Cekay; his sister, Johanna (Lena) Sacco of Joliet; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa, nee Tunici, and Peter Zanzola; two sisters, Mary Bottino and Agnes Reposh; and two brothers, John and infant, Martin.

Mr. Zanzola was born July 19, 1925 and attended Sacred Heart Elementary School.

He graduated Joliet Catholic High School in 1943 and in October that year entered the U.S. Navy, serving as a Seabee in Virginia, Massachusetts, Hawaii and Bremerton, WA. He worked for 36 years at Olin Chemical Co., formerly Blockson Chemical.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007 at theWoodlawn Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson St., Joliet.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, 604 N. Raynor Ave., Joliet, with burial following at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 27034 S. Diagonal Road, Elwood.
