Frank Sinatra is getting his own stamp next spring.
It will be unveiled next Wednesday — Sinatra’s birthday — at a ceremony in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The stamp commemorating him was announced Wednesday by Postmaster General John Potter, who called the singer “an extraordinary entertainer whose life and work left an indelible impression on American culture.”
RedEye can think of a few more stars who’ve left their stamp on pop culture. Here are some faces we deem worthy of their own postage.
Britney Spears: because she’s worth 41 cents
Paris Hilton: to experience the joy of sending her far, far away
Amy Winehouse: so we can keep an eye on her
Oprah: her face already is everywhere else
Stephen Colbert: he was almost president, after all.
James Brown: to help postal carriers get on the good foot
Snoop Dogg: for stizzle, my mizzle
Michael Jordan: good for air mail
Al Gore: what comes after a Nobel Peace Prize?
Hayden Panettiere: send a letter, save the world
Jessica Simpson: it might help with her attachment issues
Samuel L. Jackson: no carrier’s gonna [bleep] with that piece of mail, I guarantee you
