Bernice Zoloto,nee Cohen, age 94, died on April 14, 2009 at Illinois Masonic Hospital, surrounded by family, beloved wife of the late Philip; loving mother of Allan (Marlene) Zoloto, Suzanne (Alden) Cohen and Herb (Audrey) Zoloto; adored grandmother of Jordin (Bev), Laura (Michael Seale) and Adam (Rosa Louie) Cohen, Steven (Ilyce), David (Hila), Amy, Philip (Katie) and Daniel (Amanda) Zoloto and Amanda (Ben) Range; proud great grandmother of Naomi, Talya andBenjamin Cohen, Elliot and Lily Gross, Ilan and Ronen Louie-Cohen, Zachary, Abby, Jake, Sarah, Asher, Nathan, Franklin, Julia and Grace Zoloto, Carson Range; she was a dear friend to Liliane Zoloto.
Bernice was an independent, handsome and proud woman, who lived her life fully, especially in the early years.
She loved theatre and had a subscription to Steppenwolf Theatre.
She enjoyed knitting and made afghans for everyone in her family.
She baked family favorites, and her freezer was full of homemade desserts.
She lived in the same apartment for the last 35 years and was independent to the end.
Bernice was a cancer survivor of 43 years and her strength gave us strength.
Graveside service Friday, 12 Noon at Westlawn Cemetery, 7801 W. Montrose, Norridge.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to JUF or Cancer Research.
