To blame all the people who got stuck on Lake Shore Drive or elsewhere for being caught in the blizzard seems rather ridiculous; blame instead should be placed on the uncaring bosses/companies that have no regard for the safety/well-being of their employees. For days prior to this impending blizzard, the media warned again and again that people should not be on the roads. However, many businesses did not close early (or early enough) and some were even warned that there would be repercussions if they did not report to work on Tuesday. Surely there were people out there for no good reason, but it’s more likely that the majority who got caught had no choice in the matter as they were required to stay at work until the boss decided it was time to leave.

Sadly, common sense is something that cannot be taught.
