Outside hitter Sean Rooney of Wheaton was named Thursday to his second straight Olympic volleyball team.

Rooney, 29, was a reserve on the U.S. team that won the 2008 Olympic title.

The Wheaton-Warrenville grad, who has played pro volleyball in South Korea, Italy and Russia, came back from a 2011 season limited by a shoulder injury.

He was USA Volleyball’s male player of the year in 2009.
