Recap: Penn State 60, South Dakota State 50

No. 10 Penn State 60, South Dakota State 50: Alex Bentley tallied 13 points and nine rebounds and hit a pair of free throws to key a second-half run as the Nittany Lions pulled away from the visiting Jackrabbits.

Nikki Greene committed seven turnovers but added a game-high 15 points for Penn State (9-2), which shot just 1-of-11 beyond the arc but still improved to 4-0 all-time against Summit League opponents.

South Dakota State (6-5), which already defeated a Big Ten opponent in Nebraska on Nov. 18, gave the Nittany Lions everything they wanted in the first half. In fact, Penn State needed a jumper from Tori Waldner to pull even at 25 at intermission.

The Nittany Lions scored the first seven points after the break, but could not create much separation until Bentley hit two free throws with 8:37 remaining. The shots sparked eight unanswered points over the next 2:07 as Penn State established a 48-35 advantage.

Ashley Eide had 14 points and was the only player to finish in double figures for the Jackrabbits.
