A late White Sox rally fell flat Saturday night in a 3-1 loss to the Rays at Tropicana Field.

At the plate

After a Jose Abreu walk, Marcus Semien’s pinch-hit RBI single in the ninth gave the Sox their only run. they had only three hits overall.

On the mound

Hector Noesi gave up three runs on six hits in six innings, including Nick Franklin’s two-run homer in the second. Rays right-hander Chris Archer gave up two hits with four walks and three strikeouts over 61/3 innings.

Avisail Garcia, who had a hit and two walks, was doubled off first base to end the fourth after Dayan Viciedo flied out to center field.
