A young Aurora woman woke up early Thursday morning to find a stranger in her bedroom, police said.
The 19-year-old said she was awakened around 1:50 a.m. by someone she assumed was her father. When she asked what he needed, the suspect ran out of the house, police said.
Aurora Police Department spokesman Dan Ferrelli said there were others inside the home in the 1900 block of Heather Drive who did not wake up during the incident. As a result, no one was able to identify the suspect.
Ferrelli said a search of the neighborhood did not turn up the man.
According to police reports, the man possibly entered the home through an open attached garage. Ferrelli said the garage door leading into the home was also unlocked.
Nothing appeared to be damaged or missing inside the home. Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 630-256-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000.
