Many seniors are led to believe that their property taxes are frozen. The only thing frozen is the assessed valuation. The multiplier changes yearly just so they can squeeze a few more dollars out of you.

After reading so many positives by the states that authorized marijuana sales, maybe Illinois should OK it too. They say it’s a huge “cash-cow,” adding that because of the high taxes on it, they now enjoy a huge amount of surplus money. Wouldn’t/couldn’t adopting this be a great way to at least start paying down all our huge, lingering money problems and still offer all the services the people want and expect?

I am amazed at President Donald Trump insisting that the Senate not take a vacation until the health care bill is finalized, when he has been taking vacations since he came into office after he said he would have ACA repealed and replaced the first day he is in office. Gee, what happened to the . . . bill that was supposedly already drawn up and ready to be voted on. I can’t believe this man spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin without the U.S. translator. Was he afraid of any U.S. citizen knowing what was in the conversation? I am sick of hearing the word “disaster” used for everything former President Barack Obama did, the only “disaster” is the Trump family. . .

Wouldn’t you love to say these three little words — “Donald, you’re fired” — to President Donald Trump? If only we could do like he did on his TV show “The Apprentice,” then the world would be a much better place.
