Officials at New Trier High School are putting out a call to local businesses to participate in a May 2 student job fair.
As sponsored by the high school’s Career Services department, the student job fair aims to match students with local companies who are looking for part-time employees, New Trier spokeswoman Lia Kass said in a statement.
The goal of New Trier’s Career Services department is, “to support students in exploring their passions and interests in potential future careers,” Kass said, providing teens with “real-world experiences” and connections with professionals in the community.
In addition to hosting job fairs, the department also offers career-related field trips and job shadowing for students, and partners with classroom teachers, advisers and counselors, “to guide students through self-analysis, career exploration and educational goal setting from 9th through 12th grade,” Kass said.
The student job fair will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, at New Trier High School’s Winnetka Campus at 385 Winnekta Ave.
