A new Dunkin’ is under construction at 11851 Southwest Highway in Palos Heights in a vacant lot between CVS and Chicagoland Ham.

It will replace the Dunkin’ Donuts at 11901 W. College Drive, which has no drive-thru lane and has a small parking lot it shares with a number of retail neighbors.

Besides a drive-thru lane, the new location will be one of the first rollouts of the newly branded Dunkin’ that is replacing the former Dunkin’ Donuts name.

New franchise owners are Parag Patel, a California attorney, and his sister-in-law Sanya Patel.

Construction is expected to be complete by the spring with a soft opening targeted for March or April, according to Ken Busse, economic development coordinator for Palos Heights.

Tinley family launches kitchen remodeling business

Steve and Carolyn Bonezek and their three children have launched a Tinley Park branch of Kitchen Tune-Up, a national kitchen remodeling company that provides options to update kitchens and cabinetry.

“We are thrilled to pave the way for our customers to feel great in their kitchens, no matter the size of the job,” Bonezek said in a release. “Our passion is creating excitement for local homeowners by transforming their remodeling dreams into a reality.”

Prior to launching Kitchen Tune-Up of Tinley Park, Bonezek spent more than 30 years as a civil engineer and construction manager.

In addition to residential clients, Kitchen Tune-Up offers kitchen remodeling for commercial customers.

While most kitchen remodeling services can take weeks, leaving kitchens inaccessible, Kitchen Tune-Up of Tinley Park says it can finish most of its work in as little time as one day.

Kitchen Tune-Up of Tinley Park’s service area includes Tinley Park, Orland Park, Orland Hills, Oak Forest, Country Club Hills, Mokena, Frankfort, New Lenox, Homer Glen, Lockport and surrounding communities.

Santa to load groceries at Tinley ALDI

Santa will be lending a hand to ALDI shoppers at the Tinley Park store from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday to Sunday.

Santa will spread holiday cheer as he loads Curbside Grocery Pickup orders into shoppers’ cars and poses for free, socially distant car-side photos at the Tinley Park store, 16000 S. Harlem Ave., and additional stores in Elgin, Palatine, Plainfield, and Wheaton.

While shoppers stay in their vehicles, Santa will unload a sleigh full of groceries packed in festive ALDI bags and pose for a free car-side photo captured by a professional photographer. Photos will be shared with customers digitally at the end of the experience.

Shoppers can place a curbside order and reserve their spot to meet Santa at shop.ALDI.us or in the ALDI mobile app.

Holiday initiatives at Bolthouse Farms

California-based Bolthouse Farms has continued its commitment to helping employees at its warehouse in southwest suburban Hodgkins as well as giving back to the community during the holiday season.

Throughout the pandemic, the company has donated close to $3.1 million in fresh carrots, beverages, dressings and money so far this year. With the holidays upon us and the hunger crisis affecting so many more this year, Bolthouse Farms is rolling out initiatives across the U.S. with local community nonprofits as well as national organizations like Feeding America and food banks nationwide.

“Our long-term commitment to fighting hunger has become even more important during the pandemic, and especially during this very different holiday season,” said Bill Levisay, President, Bolthouse Farms. “Our giving efforts this season start in our own backyard and stretch across North America, with a focus on delivering healthy, fresh food to those in need.”

On Giving Tuesday, Bolthouse Farms made a $10,000 donation to food banks in Bakersfield, California, Hodgkins, and Prosser, Wash., to support their efforts in feeding the hungry this season. They are encouraging area employees to make donations to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

For Thanksgiving at each of its locations, Bolthouse Farms collected donations of canned food items, which were delivered to local organizations in need including Beds Plus in Chicago.

In addition, Bolthouse Farms donates food weekly to the local communities, ensuring food is always provided regardless of season.
