An Aurora man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child, officials said.
Marcus Currie, 31, was sentenced after a Kane County jury found him guilty of two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child in August, Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office officials said in a news release Tuesday.
Between February 2018 and January 2019, Currie sexually assaulted the victim, whom he knew, according to the release. The victim was younger than 13 years old, prosecutors said.
Currie, of the 900 block of East New York Street, must serve at least 85% of his sentence. He receives credit for 1,112 days served in the county jail where he has been held since his arrest.
