Bottom of the barrel

Is it just me or is our younger generation soft and lazy? The newest thing in schools and the workforce are “mental health days.” Unbelievable. We already have mental health days. They are weekends and holidays. Yeah, let’s give school kids more time off. Great idea. America spends more money on education than any 10 countries combined, and our kids would be hard-pressed to identify 10 countries on a map. Furthermore, we are at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to math, science and grammar, compared to the rest of the world. It’s also seeping it’s way into the workforce. Companies don’t owe you anything. If your job is hard and you don’t like it, find a different job or career path. Or do what most adults do and take a sick day if you are hung over or just want to play hooky. People then wonder why they are not getting paid a living wage. Well, go to work. It used to be a badge of honor to get up and go to work or school every day.

Yankee come home

Doesn’t the management know that Anthony Rizzo was the second “Mr. Cub?”

How ironic

Pandemic moms worked two jobs thru COVID-19. Job number 1 is never-ending at home. Job number 2 or more is a paying job. Even if kids are grown and there is no husband for whatever reason, taking care of yourself and your home is never-ending. Americans bet $125 billion on sports over four years. Bet they’re mostly fathers. Who does their home job? How ironic.

New number needed

If ever a phone number needed to be memorable, it’s that of the national Suicide Help Line. Currently, it’s not. Surely someone in power could establish something like l-800-SUICIDE, or better yet, 1-800-HELP NOW.
