American Taliban: When exactly did the Republican party become a version of the Taliban? How else would you explain their abuse of women’s rights, their crackdown on what children can learn in the classroom or their blurring of the boundaries between church and state.

No denying climate change: I am sick and tired of these climate change deniers even though there is incontrovertible scientific proof that this is a reality. Within a few months, our country will be warming up, causing a need to use air conditioning. We might even have to go in cold water just to prevent heat stroke. In the space of just a few months afterward, things will cool off leading us to have to wear more clothing just to stay warm. These are direct results of climate change and only a fool would deny this.

Sit down, Mr. Diva: Pertaining to the diva Aaron Rodgers, why don’t the newspapers quit covering him? If I were the Packers, I would start Love all year long and have Mr. Diva sit on the bench. Sure, Green Bay screwed up by guaranteeing all that money, but live and learn. Don’t let this guy push everybody around. He already is acting like an idiot with some of them guys in New York.

It’s baseball season: March 30 was opening day for the Major League Baseball season. Both our Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs were in action. But as I looked at the comics page of the paper, the Fred Basset strip shows Fred and his dog friends cheering on the boys of the neighborhood in their first game of the season, not playing baseball but football. Did Fred Basset cartoonist Alex Graham not know it was opening day of baseball?

Dream ticket: I read the story about a Trump/DeSantis alliance being unlikely. This is why we should suspect all politicians. I believe they both have similar, strong visions but different ways to achieve it. It seems their individual personal egos/goals are splitting them and come before what they’re trying to convince voters. A Trump/DeSantis ticket would mean our country’s growth, respect and prosperity for at least 12 years under strong, conservative Republican leadership.
