POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Teresa Allen with no reported address was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a fraudulent driver’s license June 13. She was arrested after police responded to a bank in the 700 block of Shermer Road reporting a woman was utilizing a fake identification card to withdraw money from an account. After arresting her for the fake identification card, police found a white rock/powder which tested positive for heroin. She is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court July 5 in Skokie.
INVALID LICENSE
Elbert O. Quadarrama of Northfield was charged with driving without a valid license, driving with a suspended registration and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle June 13. Police stopped him in the 900 block of Willow Road because his registration was suspended and discovered he did not have a valid license. He is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court July 13 in Skokie.
Jaroslaw Tarnowski of Chicago was charged with driving with a suspended license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident June 14. He was arrested after police responded to a crash near the intersection of Waukegan Road and Walters Avenue and learned his license was suspended. He is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court July 26 in Skokie.
BURGLARY
An unknown individual entered a business in the 700 block of Skokie Blvd. while the business was closed, accessed a safe and removed $1,600 June 14.
THEFT
A Northbrook resident reported engaging in an online transaction June 14 and was not satisfied with the purchase. An alleged representative of the vendor told the resident to buy the vendor’s gift cards to for reimbursement purposes. After purchasing $4,900 worth of gift cards, the resident realized it was a scam.
A Northbrook resident reported a burglary June 13 after the cleaning crew left the resident’s new apartment. The resident reported their checkbook and passport were missing.
A person reported an unknown individual or individuals removed the catalytic converter from their vehicle while their car was parked in a lot in the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard on June 11.
An unknown man attempted to take shoes from a retail business in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard, after putting them on his feet and running out of the store with them June 10. He failed to tie the shoes, they fell off and the man kept running.
COMPUTER FRAUD
A Northbrook resident reported June 15 receiving an email from the resident’s computer service saying the warranty was about to expire. After calling, the resident gave the alleged technician access to the resident’s computer and the resident realized $2,900 was removed from the resident’s bank account.
