Sounding off

This concert event features concert choir, chorale, chamber singers and guest instrumentalists performing from every nook and cranny in Wentz Concert Hall.
‘Youth’ gone wild
“This Is Our Youth” will be performed at 8 p.m. Nov. 17-18 and 3 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Riverfront Playhouse in Aurora. Tickets are $18-$20. At 11 S. Water St. 630-897-9496; riverfrontplayhouse.com.
The play follows three teens for two days on Manhattan’s Upper West Side in 1982, in the dawn of the Reagan era.
Young pianists
Steans Piano Trio performs at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17 in Bennett Gordon Hall at Ravinia Festival in Highland Park. Tickets are $25. At 201 St. Johns Ave. 847-266-5100; ravinia.org/ShowDetails/2205/steans-piano-trio.
Three alumni of the highly prestigious Ravinia Steans Music Institute — violinist Eunice Kim, cellist Oliver Aldort and pianist Xiaohui Yang — formed the Steans Piano Trio in 2019 in honor of their 2015 meeting place. They will perform a program with music by Haydn, Ravel and Shostakovich.
Friday fun time

Grounded on the foundations of American blues, rock, soul, and funk, this Valparaiso-based band will bring combined decades of guitar experience to the stage.
Hot jazz
