An Arkansas woman was pronounced dead on the scene after she was found with a gunshot wound to the head Wednesday night inside a West Loop residence, authorities said.
Shortly before 8 p.m., Chicago police officers responded to a call for service at a residence in the 1500 block of West Warren Boulevard and found a victim who had suffered trauma to the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
She was identified as Kristina Romandine, 33, of Bay Minette, Alabama, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy conducted Thursday ruled her death a homicide due to multiple injuries suffered during an assault.
No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
An earlier version of this story misstated Romandine’s home state as listed by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
