A car collision in Garfield Park resulted in one death and at least three injuries early Sunday morning, police said.
A blue Ford sedan was traveling east on West Lake Street, driven by a 20-year-old man and carrying a 22-year-old man and two other 20-year-old men. Police said the driver disregarded a traffic signal and struck a red Chevy sedan that was traveling south. The Chevy was driven by a 37-year-old woman and had a 35-year-old woman passenger.
The 22-year-old passenger of the Ford was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital. The three 20-year-olds in the Ford, including the driver, were taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition. The two women in the Chevy refused emergency medical services.
No citations have been issued, and police are investigating.
