6. Highland Park 9-3 (7): Paxton Feder, who has reached base in 17 of his past 22 plate appearances, makes two highlight-reel catches in the Giants’ win over Carmel.
7. Lake Zurich 7-4 (6): Alex Toth‘s two hits in the Bears’ NSC series against Libertyville includes a home run.
8. Stevenson 9-7 (3): Sam Adelman hits .429 and Brody Aaron drives in five runs for the Patriots.
9. Vernon Hills 8-4-1 (NR): Colin McMurray has a 17th birthday to remember by going 4-for-4 with two stolen bases in the Cougars’ Central Suburban North win over Maine West.
10. Wauconda 6-5 (8): The Bulldogs, who average over eight runs, rally back from an 11-2 deficit against Antioch before the deadlocked NLCC game is suspended due to darkness.
Player of the week
Senior left-hander Will Bemrich pitches a no-hitter with seven strikeouts in Mundelein’s 10-1 North Suburban Conference win over Stevenson on April 13 as the Parkland commit allows just five hits in his first 16 innings this season.
