The Morton Grove Fire Department on April 16 responded to a call of a structure fire on the 5400 block of Hoffman Terrace, according to a news release.

When firefighters arrived found a fire on the roof, attic area and exterior wall of a two-story single-family residence. The crews quickly extinguished the fire. All of the occupants of the home were able to evacuate the building safely, officials said.

No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation, although a lightning strike is likely from initial reports.

Motorn Grove firefighters were assisted by Niles, Park Ridge, Evanston, North Maine and Glenview Fire Departments, the release said. Des Plaines, Northbrook, and Wilmette assisted with multiple other simultaneous emergency responses in Morton Grove.
