Lake Zurich, which has taken over first place in the North Suburban Conference, and rival Libertyville rise in the rankings as Antioch holds onto the top spot.

1. Antioch 14-2 (1): Addison Housh heats up, batting .545 with three doubles, five RBIs, nine runs scored and five stolen bases in her past four games.

2. Stevenson 11-3 (2): Freshman Zoe Grant steps forward, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs in the Patriots’ win over Glenbrook South.

3. Warren 8-5 (3): Freshman Peyton Nissen, who is making circus catches in the outfield, is batting .500 in her past two games.

4. Lake Zurich 8-5 (5): Freshman Brooklyn Barber is batting .441 with five home runs, 13 RBIs and 18 runs scored to lead the Bears to first place in the North Suburban Conference.

5. Mundelein 7-3 (4): Emily Courtney, who leads the Mustangs with a .424 batting average, is also moving over runners with her bunting skills.

6. Libertyville 9-7 (10): Ava Podolski leads the Wildcats to six wins in seven games by batting .571.

7. Carmel 6-6 (7): Kate Buckingham is covering a lot of ground in the outfield and is consistently putting the ball in play at the plate.

8. Grayslake North 9-5 (6): Grace Hoker allows just three hits and strikes out eight over six innings in the Knights’ 1-0 loss to Libertyville.

9. Wauconda 12-10 (9): Aubrey Fetingis delivers in the clutch, hitting a two-run homer to help the Bulldogs beat Grayslake Central and hitting a walk-off double against Zion-Benton.

10. Vernon Hills 9-6-1 (8): Carolynn Bernard doesn’t miss a step after returning from an injury, playing excellent defense at shortstop and hitting .556 in three games.

Player of the week

Senior pitcher Shae Johnson allows just two hits and strikes out 13 and also goes 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI during Mundelein’s 7-2 North Suburban Conference win over Stevenson on April 16.
