The Chicago Sky have waived second-year guard Hailey Van Lith and signed veteran guard Natasha Cloud, the team announced Monday.
Van Lith, 24, was a first-round draft pick (No. 11) last year after a standout college career at Louisville, LSU and TCU. She averaged 3.5 points and 1.6 assists in 29 games as a rookie.
Cloud, 34, has career averages of 8.8 points, 5.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 10 WNBA seasons with the Washington Mystics, Phoenix Mercury and New York Liberty. She made the league’s All-Defensive first team in 2022 and the second team in 2019 and 2024.
“Natasha is one of the best passers and defenders in our league,” Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca said in a statement. “She fits in with the other proven winners on our roster.”
The Sky open the season Saturday in Portland against the expansion Fire (8 p.m., The U, NBA TV).
