NBC has axed two of its scripted series.

The medical drama “Brilliant Minds” and the mockumentary sitcom “Stumble” have both been canceled ahead of the 2026-2027 season.

“Brilliant Minds” stars Zachary Quinto as Oliver Wolf, an attending physician in neurology at Bronx General Hospital. Oliver suffers from face blindness, which leads him to take an unconventional approach to connecting with his patients. The series was inspired by neurologist Oliver Sacks’s books “The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat” and “An Anthropologist on Mars.”

“Brilliant Minds” premiered in 2024, with a second season debuting in September 2025. In February 2026, NBC pulled “Brilliant Minds” from the schedule to make room for “The Voice.” The remaining six episodes will begin airing May 27.

The cancellation news comes after a steep decline in viewership during season 2. During the 2025-2026 season, “Brilliant Minds” was NBC’s lowest-rated drama series.

As for “Stumble,” the comedy had the lowest ratings of any NBC show this season. The series follows a successful cheerleading coach (Jenn Lyon) who begins training a group of rookies after getting fired from her former job. Season 1 came to an end in March.

Just days before “Stumble” was canceled, Lyon pleaded with her Instagram followers to give the show a ratings boost.

“FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION- All episodes of #STUMBLE available on @peacock and if you haven’t watched, you should- and if you have watched, give it another go and help us get a season 2,” she wrote.

Three other NBC shows are still waiting on renewal decisions: the new comedy “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins,” the long-running procedural “Law & Order” and the sophomore crime drama “The Hunting Party.” The network should make a decision in the coming weeks.

NBC has already renewed “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago Med,” “Chicago P.D.,” “Happy’s Place” and “St. Denis Medical.”
