A woman was killed and two teenagers seriously injured by motorcycle-riding gunmen in a shooting on Chicago’s Southwest Side Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

The three victims — a 16-year-old boy, an 18-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman — were in a car going westbound on 50th Street in the New City neighborhood at around 3:30 p.m. when two people riding a motorcycle pulled up alongside their vehicle and opened fire, according to Chicago police. In the wake of the shooting, the victims’ vehicle crashed into a parked car in the 1700 block of West 50th, police said.

The woman was shot in the back and transported to UChicago Medicine in Hyde Park, where she was later pronounced dead. Her identity wasn’t immediately released, but an autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.

The 16-year-old was shot in his left arm and leg and transported to UChicago Medicine in critical condition. The 18-year-old was shot in his right hip and also transported to UChicago Medicine, where he was initially listed in serious condition.

No arrests had been made as Wentworth Area detectives continued their investigation.

The triple shooting comes just days after two teens and a young man were injured in a shooting less than a mile away. In the late-night hours of Saturday, a 16-year-old boy, an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were standing outside in the 5000 block of South Hoyne Avenue when “they heard gunshots and felt pain,” police previously stated. All three were injured, the 20-year-old critically, and transported to UChicago Medicine.

Police were continuing to investigate the weekend shooting, with no arrests reported as of Tuesday night.
