A 13-year-old boy was shot and critically wounded Thursday afternoon in the city’s South Chicago neighborhood.
Police officers discovered the boy lying in the 8200 block of South Coles Avenue with a gunshot wound to the head around 2:50 p.m., Chicago police said, citing preliminary information.
The boy was rushed to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition. Police released no other details as Calumet Area (Area 2) detectives investigated the shooting.
