An early morning fire Thursday in the Back of the Yards neighborhood left four people injured and more than a dozen displaced, fire officials said.
The fire began around 5 a.m. at the 4500 block of South Laflin Street, near Davis Square Park, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesperson Kathy Chaney. More than 150 firefighters, plus police, responded to the extra-alarm fire.
Two firefighters were hurt on the call, both with minor injuries, Chaney said. Two more people were also injured, one more severely than the other. Additionally, 14 individuals were displaced due to the Thursday fire. The fire was secured by 6:45 a.m.
