Arguing daily with people entering my work without a mask is about to end. Now I have to pray that my co-workers will stay safe and not contract a deadly virus. All because of a selfish governor and ignorant of facts people.
I am extremely concerned with the governor removing the mask requirement in two weeks along with all the other restrictions that have been in place and opening up vaccinations down to those age 16 and older. My own experience is that it took three weeks for me to schedule my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine once my age group was opened up and it will be five weeks before I can get my second dose instead of the recommended 3 weeks between doses, meaning I will not be considered fully vaccinated until 5/4, 2 weeks after I get my second dose. Since my age group (60-64) opened up on 2/23, the governor has opened up registration to those 40 and over plus he’s how saying that will be reduced to 16 and over at the end of the month. I can’t help but wonder how long it will take to get appointments once that action is taken. Furthermore, as of this morning only about 15.5% of the population has been fully vaccinated per the IN.gov website. Removing restrictions and the mask requirement will be misinterpreted as an open door to do what you want by the very same people who have denied there was a problem to begin with. It only takes a few ignorant people to screw up everything for the rest of us. Our governor needs to think about the majority of Hoosiers rather than the ignorant minority.
Do you really think that a cloth mask will be all it takes to save you from an airborne virus? If you do, then you better wear it for the rest of your life because this won’t be the last virus the world will have. And what happened to the flu season, did it just vanish into thin air or did wearing a mask make it disappear? This blame game theory that appears in the Quickly column is getting old.
Governor Holcomb deserves thanks for withstanding the political pressure of the anti-maskers for as long as he did. Now that he has given in to those who foolishly see the mask mandate as a violation of their rights, PLEASE continue to wear your mask, stay socially distanced, wash your hands and get vaccinated. The life that you save may be your own.
I officially take back everything nice I’ve ever said about Eric Holcomb. What a colossal idiot. We can’t just declare the pandemic over and then pretend it isn’t happening. People are going to die because of this. Ending masking mandates before a significant portion of the population is vaccinated will do nothing but lead to another spike and more virus mutation. Eric Holcomb is committing mass murder with his decision. To hell with this stupid state.
So the entire Trump family got the vaccines, but they kept it quiet from the Trump fans, because they did not want them to think that they believed in the “hoax.”
If you want more people to get a vaccinated, stop showing needles going into arms dozens of times a day on TV. No one wants to see that. It makes people queasy. I can’t even watch my dog get a shot let alone a celebrity, politician, or an an elderly woman.
As soon as there is a mass shooting event, they start scaring their right-wing followers that all of their weapons will be confiscated. And the saddest part of all is they believe it.
Helicopters should be working around the clock to offload all the cargo on the quarter-mile longship wedged into the mud in the Suez Canal. The less weight on the ship, the higher it will lift out of the mud.
If you are a proud conservative Republican, which one Quickly contributor claims to be, then here are just a few of the things that you believe. Despite what our intelligence establishment says, Russians and Iranians never interfered in our 2020 election by spreading disinformation. Masks do not help contain the spread of COVID-19, and vaccines are probably dangerous. Joe Biden did not win the presidential election. Trump did. By a lot. A sizable number of Americans should not be allowed to vote. Or, voting should not be easy, but should be made as difficult as possible. Those who attacked our Capitol were not really violent, dangerous, and destructive, they were just patriotic Americans exercising their right of free speech and assembly. The people at our southern border, not the northern one, are all terrorists and evildoers. If they are children, they will grow up to be terrorists and evildoers. Oh, and sort of a core belief of yours, neither Donald Trump nor anybody he knows nor anybody in his family has ever committed a criminal act. Never.
Right off the top, I’ll say I support tighter gun regulations. In answer to your question though, an AR-type rifle serves any legitimate purpose any other rifle does: hunting, target shooting, home defense. The things that make the AR good for all of these things are that it is easy to use, accurate, affordable, and adaptable. Unfortunately, all those things also make it ideal for committing mass murder. While I sympathize with the idea of getting rid of them altogether, that’s simply not going to happen in this country. There are millions and millions of those rifles out in the wild. Universal background checks for firearms purchases, and FOID-type ID for ammunition purchases would save lives and have wide support. We have to start somewhere, let’s start there.
