Eric Havens, 58, of Homewood, pleaded guilty to obstructing an officer in Will County court after fleeing multiple law enforcement officials in October.

Two charges of disorderly conduct against Havens were dropped. He was given two days jail time, placed on 12 months of conditional discharge and charged fines and fees totaling to $800, according to court records.

He was also ordered to continue psychological treatment and have no contact with Lincoln-Way East High School, according to court records.

In October, Havens ran off after attendees at a school volleyball game notified a Will County sheriff’s office school resource officer of suspicious behavior, according to a sheriff’s news release at the time.

Havens turned himself in to Frankfort police, after a pursuit into a nearby subdivision involving multiple law enforcement resources, including the Will County deputies, K9 units, drones and neighboring agencies.

Havens was taken to the Will County jail in early October and released for his trial later that month.

Havens attorney, John Hoevel, could not be reached because he was on vacation, according to his firm.

Havens is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 20 for a status hearing on compliance with his orders. His conditional discharge is scheduled to end April 20, 2027.
