What do we think about an orchestral arrangement of “Shock the Monkey”? We think it might work, especially since the man himself, Peter Gabriel, is doing it. Gabriel took this route on his recent “Scratching My Back” album of covers that included Paul Simon’s “The Boy in the Bubble,” Talking Heads’ “Listening Wind” and Neil Young’s “Philadelphia,” set to an orchestra — no drums or guitars. The British rocker, who has never shied away from the experimental, will be accompanied by the New Blood Orchestra for this performance. 8 p.m. Monday at United Center, 1901 W. Madison St.; $45-$175; 800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com
