When the Illinois budget finally passed after more than two years without a complete state budget, everybody kept saying, “Well, we’re going to have to increase the income tax.” Where was all the money that was collected in that period that there was no budget? Then they wanted to borrow $6 billion in general obligation bonds to pay unpaid bills. Then they wanted to make up more of this money with Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and her tax on soda, which thankfully was repealed. Why do we have to keep paying for everything? Where’s all this money? That’s what everybody wants to know. Where has the money gone?

I’ve seen people who injure puppies and get four years in prison when the sentence should be 40 years. You wonder anymore who is the human and who is the animal in this world with people who think like this. . . It is an absolute disgrace what people do anymore to others and to animals and everything else.

This is good news. A story stated, “Pay for elected Will County officials will remain the same for at least two years.” Democratic officials need to take a chill pill. They proposed pay increases from $93,116 to $100,000 for the country clerk. That’s a difference of $6,884. They also proposed a sheriff pay increase to $125,000 from $110,923, leaving a difference of $14,077. It was stated that salaries have been frozen since 2009. Nevertheless, salaries for our elected officials are high compared with other surrounding states. Why should Illinois be the “give me more state?”

Thank you Mike, of Bridgeview. Thank you for coming to Anthony Rizzo’s aid. Rizzo is a very generous young man, a great athlete and an excellent role model. This issue was all about “the weather” these past weeks. Playing ball in this unseasonable weather is very dangerous and uncomfortable for everyone. Thanks again for defending a fine, giving athlete.
