Those looking to erase a criminal conviction can head to the Lake County Public Library in Merrillville on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for help.

“Second Chance Saturday” will have resources on hand to see who is eligible.

That includes:

*if you were arrested, but no charges were filed

*have a misdemeanor over five years ago with all fees paid

*a nonviolent felony over eight years ago with fees paid

*others on a case-by-case basis

Bring a state-issued id and a copy of a background check.

The expungement fair is sponsored by Community Change Center, law firm Weiss, Schmidgall & Hires; and other lawyers, including Derrick Julkes, Shane O’Donnell, Ferdinand Alvarez.
