A 24-year-old man was arrested after critically wounding a 52-year-old man overnight in the New City neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 2:10 a.m., two men, ages 24 and 52, were having an argument outside in the 5100 block of South Emerald Avenue when the argument turned into a fight, police said.
The younger man pulled out a weapon and fired shots toward the victim, striking him in the head. He was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was listed in critical condition.
The 24-year-old man was arrested and charges were pending. Police said the shooting appears to be domestic-related.
